Attention: Free preschool and sports physicals by appointment -- Check it out!

Princeton R-V is now scheduling appointments for preschool screenings to be held on May 28, 29, 30, and 31, for the 3 and 4 year old preschool classes forming for the 2013-2014 school year.  Children must be age 3 or age 4 by August 1st to qualify for placement in that age division of the program.

Due to changes in the program, applications will no longer be mailed to families in the community and placement will no longer be based on postmark dates or a lottery system. Appropriate placement will now be determined after a full screening is completed and will be based on screening outcomes.  The screening will include:
*Dial-3 screening assessment for motor, concept, and language skills;
*assessment of hearing, vision, and speech;
*behavior observation documentation;
*previous PAT assessments;
*parent survey

Parents will fill out the application forms and survey while their child is being screened.  All families need to bring a copy of the child's birth certificate and the child's social security card to the screening.  A physical form will be given to parents at the screening, which they will need to have completed by a physician.  The completed physical form, a lead screening report, and a copy of the child's up-to-date immunization record will also need to be returned to the elementary school by August 1.

All efforts will be made to place all interested students, but the school district reserves the right to determine appropriate placement and also to refuse services if it is determined that the child is not ready for the structured preschool environment.

Enrollment will be taken in the following order:

1. In-district 3 and 4 year old children with an IEP (Individualized Education Plan)
2. 3 and 4 year-old children of Princeton R-V employees
3. In-district 4 year olds
4. In-district 3 year olds
5. Out-of-district 4 year olds
6. Out-of-district 3 year olds

Please call Princeton Elementary at 660-748-3335, ext. 231 to make a screening appointment.  If you have questions, please contact Angie Ormsby at ext. 230.

RED Communication Tool Sign-Up

All parents, students, and community members are encouraged to sign up for RED, Princeton R-V's new communication tool. Teachers and sponsors will be using RED to notify students and parents of practices, games, schedule changes, as well as send homework and project updates. The school district will be using RED to notify parents and community of early-release days and dismissals for inclement weather. Click on "RED Communication Tool Sign-up" above to get started!
